THIS RIDE IS NOT FOR BEGINNERS
If you have never ridden with me before, please introduce yourself at one of our mid-week after work rides or send me a brief email describing your experience to [masked]. Thanks!
Intermediate level riders will enjoy some challenging intermediate level single tracks and/or can add some distance and come down the best single track on that side of the lake: the Pine Knot trail. (This route involves a bit of riding back to Snow Summit through town on the streets where we'll stop for lunch.)
Advanced riders who know what Big Bear via Snow Summit is all about are welcome as well!
We'll try to do a run for everyone, starting with the easy stuff and advancing up to the more difficult runs. One of the rides will be to take the 2N10 over to the Pine Knot trail and down to town where we'll have lunch.
It's quite possible to do at least 4 runs down the mountain in about 5-6 hours.
Only cross-country style bikes are permitted on the Scenic Sky Chair. No downhill specific bikes will be transported. Any one of the following four factors will disqualify a bike from being transported on the chair.
1. Bikes must be less than 35 pounds.
2. Designated tire size must be less than 2.5.
3. Front shock must have less than 6.5 inches of travel.
4. Bikes must have at least two chain rings unless they are single speed.
All day lift tickets are just $25. Check Snow Summit's website for more information.

There are a few known trails, but most of the trail systems change every year. So you should be ready to do some exploring in case we go off course. The only maps available for the area are Forestry Service maps.
I've done the trip at least 5 times and I can say it's a blast and quite exhausting. Plan on a full day here.
Note: This is an all day adventure. You can show up whenever you like and just wait for us by the car until we were return from the run. Cell phones may not work at the top of the mountain, so just leave a message (on paper) at my car. Look for the Silver Ford Escape with plate# 3FBC. My cell # is [masked] - Mark.
Bring your radio. We'll be on channel 7/7.
Except the Pine Knot route, most runs down the mountain can be done in an hour or less.
